Join us for this festive event, offered free of charge at the Maison de la culture Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, where musicians from all backgrounds come together to celebrate their love for the music of Slavic countries. Following the concert — featuring a program inspired by the Belle Époque, an era of artistic flourishing and elegance at the turn of the 20th century — the audience will have the chance to meet the artists and share a banquet of Slavic specialties.

Through this screening, audiences will discover an iconic film from the early days of Russian cinema, featuring the greatest stars of the era – Vera Kholodnaya et Vitold Polonsky. Pianist Guillaume Martineau will perform an original live improvised soundtrack, reviving the tradition and spirit of the golden age of silent cinema.

The concert features transcriptions of monumental works by Maurice Ravel — Daphnis et Chloé (transcription by Vyacheslav Gryaznov) — and Alexandre Scriabin — Poème de l’extase (transcription by Lev Conus).

Orchestre Nouvelle Génération pays tribute to Sergei Rachmaninov in a program celebrating his orchestral legacy. The first part of the concert, devoted to arrangements for string orchestra, is followed by a contemporary reinterpretation of the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, where classical writing and jazz language meet in the hands of the exceptional virtuoso Matt Herskowitz.
